Obituary: Carl Herman Bohnsack

Carl Herman Bohnsack

Below is the obituary for Carl Herman Bohnsack, husband of Carolina Sophia “Lena” (Wulff), and my great-great grandfather.

It was published in in the Freeport Journal-Standard, Monday, 26 Feb 1940, page 14.

Note:  In C. Herman’s obituary and certificate of death, Joachim Bohnsack is listed as the name of C. Herman’s father; however,  the name on his father’s headstone is Johann J.H. Bohnsack.  Most likely, his full name was Johann Joachim Hermann (or Henry) Bohnsack.  C. Herman’s father is NOT the Joachim Bohnsack buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Galena.  That is his uncle.

Also, the portrait of Carl is a scan of a copy.  I do not have the original and do not remember how I received it.  Probably through an ancestry.com contact.
