I have several obituaries for my great-grandmother, Viola (Bausman) Davis Hickman.  She was the daughter of Nicholas Jr and Catherine (Hebenstreit) Bausman.  Her first husband, Percy Davis, was my great-grandfather.  She married her second husband, Herb Hickman, in 1956 at age 63.

Viola died January 20, 1974, in Cuba City, Wisconsin.  She’s buried in Scales Mound Township Cemetery (also referred to as Citizens Cemetery) in Scales Mound, Illinois.

I received this obituary from mom.  The citation is not known.

Mrs. Herbert Hickman

Scales Mound, Ill. – Mrs. Herbert (Viola) Hickman, 80, of Scales Mound died Sunday morning in the Cuba City, Wis., Medical Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church here, with burial in the Scales Mound Township Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Steinke-Schmadeke Funeral Home at Galena, Ill., where the Scripture Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Surviving besides her husband are a son, Stanley Davis; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (June) Harwick, and two stepsons, Cleland and Kenneth Hickman, all of Scales Mound; 13 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
