Ellen (Lightcap) Jones Lawrence, daughter of John Lightcap and Mary Chamberlin, died on February 5, 1895, in Bloomville, Seneca Co, Ohio, at the home of her daughter Anna (Lawrence) Carson.  She's buried at Rock Creek Cemetery in Seneca Co, Ohio. The notice of her death was published in the Tiffin Daily Tribune, Seneca Co, Ohio. Eleanor "Ellen" (Lightcap) Jones was the sister of my 3rd great-grandfather, Levi Lightcap.  Her first husband was Samuel Jones who died in 1838.  They had a son, William Jones, who was killed in action at the Battle of Stone River,  one of the bloodiest conflicts of the Civil War. Ellen remarried on December 30, 1841, in Seneca, Ohio, to John Lawrence, a widower with a young son. John's wife Sarah passed away on January 5, 1841. He married Anne "Nancy" Lang in Cocalico Twp, Pennsylvania, on August 5 1783; Rev. John Waldschmidt officiated. Daniel and Nancy had four children: Samuel, George Washington, Rebecca, and Sarah "Sally".  Rebecca married Christian Smith.  Daniel died in 1823 in Miami Twp, Logan County, Ohio. Her first husband Robert was the brother of my ggg-grandfather, Levi Lightcap.  Robert died when he was about 32 years old leaving Lucretia a young widow with two small boys. My gggg-grandfather, Christian Smith, served in the War of 1812. He was drafted into Captain Jacob Catterlin's 2nd Regiment Ohio militia in Fairfield County, Ohio, and served from 1 Sept 1813 until 1 Mar 1814.  Christian was discharged at Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Rebecca (Firestone) Smith was my gggg-grandmother and she was the wife of Christian Smith.  Her daughter Mary was Levi Lightcap's wife.  Rebecca's father, Daniel, is the ancestor traced back to for my Daughters of the American Revolution application.  Rebecca is buried in Firestone Cemetery in Kosciusko County, Indiana, on land formerly owned by her nephew Samuel Firestone Jr. Her obituary was published in the Columbia City Post on December 24, 1890.
