Marian Bohnsack and Stanley Davis, my grandparents, married in Apple River, Illinois, on August 1, 1941. I found the marriage announcement in genealogical files at Grandma Davis’ house.  The citation is unknown.

Apple River, Ill. – Special: Announcement was made here Thursday of the marriage of Miss Marian Bohnsack, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bohnsack of Galena, and Stanley Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Davis of Scales Mound.

The ceremony took place here Aug. 1 in St. Joseph’s rectory with the Rev. F.C. Voet officiating. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Hesselbacher.

The bride is a graduate of Scales Mound High School with the class of 1940. Her husband was graduated from the same school in 1933, since which time he has been engaged in farming near Scales Mound.

Following a honeymoon through the South, the new home will be made on the Davis farm.
