Over the weekend, I found another article regarding the car accident that killed my great-grandmother’s sister, Hazel Bausman.  The article was published in the Rockford Republic, Thursday, November 21, 1929, page 2.

Galena Girl Killed in Highway Accident

Galena, Nov. 21 – Hazel Bausman, 34, of Scales Mound, was instantly killed yesterday afternoon when the car in which she and Evelyn Stower of Galena were riding, skidded off the highway and overturned. The accident occurred on Grant highway, between here and E. Dubuque.

Miss Bausman’s skull was fractured.
