I’ve come across a family with the last name of STRELETZKY living in Dubuque, Iowa.  Since my grandmother’s last name is STRELESKY and she grew up in Dubuque, Iowa, I’ve wondered if there could be a connection between the families.  If the families are related, the lineage connection probably would be between Frank Strelesky, my grandmother’s grandfather, and John Streletzky (married to Margaretha Giesler/Margaret Geisen).  Frank and John may be brothers, but as of now, I have not been able to find a record that confirms this suspicion or links the families in any way.

I compiled the Streletzky information through marriage certificates, state and U.S. census information, social security death indexes, and obituaries. A PDF is available.

I’ve not included the sources because, well, it’s a lot of work and if there’s no relationship between the families, I’m not interested in investing the time to put citations online.
