Bausman Girls

These are the daughters of Nicholas Jr. and Catherine (Hebenstreit) Bausman. From left to right, standing are Pearl, Gertrude and Viola.  Hazel is sitting. Viola was my maternal grandfather’s mother. I believe the photo was taken about 1898 or 1899 since Gertrude (the oldest) was born in 1887, Pearl in 1890, Viola in 1893, and…

Pearl Bausman Hesselbacher

I’ve learned many things while focusing my research on the Bausmans over the past few weeks.  One of them is that I’ve never posted about Pearl (Bausman) Hesselbacher, a sister to Viola (my mother’s paternal grandmother). She had four siblings, two  identified: Andrew and Anna Caroline.  I assume her other siblings died in infancy.  Until reading Vitus Hebenstreit’s obituary, I was unaware of these children. Catherine married Nicholas Bausman Jr…

Obituary: Nicholas Bausman Jr

My mom gave me another obituary; she has quite a few in her possession. There is no citation. This is for Nicholas Bausman Jr, son of Nicholas Sr. and Mary (Casper) Bausman.  He was married to Catherine Hebenstreit. I’m not including a newspaper image.  It’s a bit long and I didn’t feel like manipulating the…
